Students participating in the Competencies Approach to Professional Education (CAPE) will graduate from high school prepared for postsecondary education and careers, proficient in health care sector professional competencies and equipped with the social and emotional skills necessary to thrive in today’s society and economy.

CAPE uses a system of validated professional competencies used in health professions and postsecondary institutions to guide curricular development. By guiding students to attain professional competencies, CAPE ensures that they are able to succeed through personal agency, integrated identity and critical thinking.
