Power Up Your Project: Using Industry Standards to Increase Rigor

This workshop is designed for new or experienced Linked Learning educators seeking to increase rigor and relevance in their project based learning. Using a project from AVHSD done in conjunction with NASA as a model, participants will crosswalk industry and academic standards using a method that creates experiences that are truly college AND career preparatory. Participants will have opportunities to exchange ideas with colleagues and begin to enhance their own projects to take back to their schools.

PREP 4 SUCCESS: Building a Summer Bridge to Equity
All Eyes on Equity: College and Career for All

Incoming 9th graders are often not ready for the rigorous academic work of their Linked Learning high school. Participants in this session will learn how to use a summer bridge program to prepare incoming 9th graders for group projects, presentations, and speaking to industry professionals. They will also learn how this program can embed a culture of equity in their school before the school year even begins. Using examples from Center for Powerful Public Schools’ PREP 4 SUCCESS program, this session will lead participants toward new methods of creating a culture of equity in their schools.
