America’s schools face a challenge in integrating sustainable 21st Century learning. As a service provider, the Center has identified the best practices that support powerful learning and teaching. Center staff builds on the capacity of school administration and faculty successfully implement a core set of instructional competencies that are aligned with the Common Core and the LAUSD teaching and learning standards while also building a culture around equity.

Instructional supports include curriculum mapping and unit design, designing integrated projects and performance tasks, authentic assessments, using data to improve practice, Cognitive Coaching and Linked Learning theme-based curriculum planning in concert with industry experts. These methods work to ensure that students of all demographic profiles have higher persistence and graduation rates, earn more credits and are more likely to be on track with A-G requirements than their peers.
